Golfing to Support Students & Athletes

We, at Bachman’s Roofing, Solar & Remodeling, are dedicated to supporting various scholarship and fundraising events around our community. When it’s a benefit golf tournament, that’s just a bonus! This past May, Bachman’s registered as a beverage station sponsor for the Chris Schlager Memorial Golf Tournament – now in its 28th year.

This annual golf outing, hosted at the Moselem Springs Golf Club, raises money to support the Chris Schlager Endowment Fund and the Presidential Hope Fund at Alvernia University. The late Chris Schlager was an entering senior and student athlete at Alvernia University when he was tragically lost in an industrial accident. Schlager’s parents, Tom and Barbara, established the endowment in his honor to benefit Alvernia athletes and to fund the maintenance and upgrades of the university’s turf field.

The Presidential Hope Fund was established by the university to provide financial assistance to earnest students who find themselves in an unexpected time of need. Whether it be paying for books, tuition, or housing – the Hope Fund helps students continue working toward their degree when they otherwise might not have been able to.
